The blog is going to be a little quiet for the next month or so as I gear up for teaching my first jewelry class at Dava Bead and Trade, get through the anniversary of my moms passing, and celebrate the holidays with family and friends. I hope you all have some wonderful celebrations this holiday season and I'll see you in the new year!

A very dear friend and I are doing an Artist Challenge where we are creating and posting pictures of new creations each weekday for 2 weeks. We just wrapped up the first week so I thought I would share what I've made so far! We are trying to use this as an excerciese to get out of work/production mode and get back to playing and exploring. It has been so much fun so far. Since I was housitting at the beginning of the week, I had all sorts of different materials than what I have in my studio which made it even more fun. I totally got on a grey kick - as you can see, and can't wait for more play time this week.

I woke up to this scene this morning. Everything is covered in these tiny ice crystals! I think it is so beautiful, all the leaves, blades of grass and flowers are encased in blankets of ice....frozen in time.
Since it was so cold out, I decided to take the day and hibernate. I snuggled on the couch and watched a movie, made some hot tea and then fixed this for lunch. Pasta with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and garlic - yum!

I love fall! It is my favorite season by far. I love the changing leaves, the crisp air, snuggling up with a cup of peppermint hot chocolate and the hum of the city as everyone gets ready for the holidays. My favorite days are the ones when the sun is out but the air is still cool and the beautiful leaves crunch under every step. I've been greeted by a blanket of fiery orange, brilliant red and bright yellow every time I step into the studio and it just reminds me how wonderful this time of year is and the beauty of nature as it prepares for a colder season. And while I've been busy working away in the studio, I feel so lucky to be able to take the occasional break, open the door and be greeted by this view......

Here is the latest batch of goodies I picked up from my favorite local bead shop! I've decided green is definitely my big color for fall and I just fell in love with all the varieties they had. I can't wait to get to work with these. Keep an eye on the shop because new pieces should be added shortly!
